Ed Chang was a student teacher under my direction for ten weeks from January 21, 1980 to April 4, 1980. Ed did his teaching in two Algebra 1 classes at Cambridge Rindge and Latin H.S., Cambridge, MA. CRLS is a comprehensive high school in an urban setting with a very diversified student population. I was very satisfied with Ed's progress as a student teacher. He demonstrated command of the subject matter, was very cooperative, and a pleasure to work with. Ed was receptive to my suggestions and was always trying to improve his teaching.
Ed did encounter a few problems with the management of a large class but his skills in this area improved with his experience. In his short stay, Ed developed a good relationship with the students and fellow teachers.
Ed is a fine person. I am sure that with continued experience and training Ed will be a welcome addition to the educational profession.
